Puppy Pickup
Picking Up Your Sheltie Puppy
Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks of age. Pickup takes place at our home in the Indianapolis area, where you will have the chance to meet your puppy in person, see the environment they were raised in, and ask us any final questions before heading home.
We schedule pickup appointments in advance so every family gets our full attention. When you arrive, your puppy will come with their health records, AKC paperwork, a sample of the food they have been eating, a comfort item with familiar scents, and a care packet to help them settle into their new home.
We typically ask that families come in person for pickup whenever possible — it gives us a chance to connect, and it makes the transition smoother for your puppy. If you are coming from farther away, we are happy to work out a meeting point or other arrangement.
Transportation
Can't Make It to Indianapolis?
We understand that not every family is able to travel to Indianapolis for pickup. We want to work with you to find a solution. Here are the options we can discuss:
- Meet Halfway: For families within a reasonable drive, we may be able to arrange a halfway meeting point. Contact us to discuss your location and we will do our best to accommodate.
- Ground Transport:We can connect you with reputable ground transport services that safely deliver puppies door-to-door. All transport arrangements are made with the puppy's comfort and safety as the top priority.
- Flight Nanny: For families farther away — including out-of-state — a flight nanny can accompany your puppy in-cabin on a commercial flight to your nearest airport. We can help facilitate this arrangement.
